Lauryn Hill and Stevie Wonder Honor Roberta Flack at Harlem Memorial

Lauryn Hill and Stevie Surprise led a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Roberta Flack throughout a memorial service held Monday (March 10) at Harlem’s historic Abyssinian Baptist Church.

Hill, visibly moved, mirrored on Flack’s highly effective legacy: “Her existence was a type of resistance. I am keen on Ms. Roberta Flack. Roberta Flack is legend.” HipHopDx notes, the Grammy-winning artist then carried out a touching rendition of “The First Time Ever I Noticed Your Face,” adopted by an emotional duet of “Killing Me Softly” with Wyclef Jean, accompanied by Stevie Surprise on harmonica.
