The Roots, Roy Wooden Jr., Grace Bowers & Cimafunk Performances Increase Funds for WhyHunger In NYC

WhyHunger, a non-profit group working to finish starvation and the injustices that trigger it – held its 2nd annual Amplified live performance Introduced by EY on October 15 at NYC’s Irving Plaza, kicking off its 39th annual Hungerthon fund-raising and training marketing campaign.

Hosted by comic Roy Wooden Jr., the night’s musical expertise featured iconic Grammy Award winners and Tonight Present home band The Roots, award-winning 18-year-old guitarist, songwriter and bandleader Grace Bowers and her band The Hodge Podge, in addition to Cuban “worldwide funk champion” (NY OccasionsCimafunk – charming the viewers with units throughout funk, hip hop, blues, and soul.

Based by the late singer/songwriter Harry Chapin and radio DJ Invoice Ayers in 1975, WhyHunger has music in its DNA. Honoring its origins, the group harnesses the ability of music to gas the meals justice motion. The twond annual Amplified occasion raised a gross complete of $545,000 to help WhyHunger’s ongoing work to finish starvation and shield the human proper to nutritious meals.
