May you consider Andre 3000 didn’t need to be on “So Contemporary, So Clear?”
Sleepy Brown spoke with SPIN, revealing that the historic single was nearly a Massive Boi solo music as a result of 3 Stacks wasn’t feeling it.
“The humorous factor is André didn’t actually prefer it at first. André didn’t like that document,” Brown shared. “It wasn’t like he didn’t suppose it was good — it simply wasn’t matching the place he was. We actually simply did it for Massive.
“We knew André was transferring to one thing else, however we knew on that album it wanted that hood theme. When Massive heard it, he cherished it. We thought Dre was going to be pleased with it at first, however he actually wasn’t.”
What satisfied 3000? Bass participant Preston Crump impressed the legend to drop off the “coolest motherfunkers on the planet” line.
